Class Descriptions/Dress Code Age 7-Teen

Ballet:

Build your dance foundation. This class will focus on body alignment, posture, placement, and proper technique, through barre and center work. Ballet teaches grace, agility and core strength and is highly recommended to all students.

Girls Dress:

Black leotard, pink tights, pink split sole ballet shoes with elastic, no skirts please!

Guys Dress:

Black stretchy pants, white t-shirt tucked in, black ballet shoes with elastic.

Pointe:

Teacher approval required, requires correct ballet technique and placement, ankle and core strength

Girls Dress:

Black leotard, pink tights, pink pointe shoes with elastic and ribbons, no skirts please!

Jazz:

Technique class focusing on rhythm, strength, coordination, and stylized movement; will incorporate stretching, across the floor progressions, and fun upbeat choreography

Girls Dress:

Leotard and tights or dance pants/ dance shorts, black jazz shoes

Guys Dress:

T-shirt or Tank, stretchy pants, black jazz shoes

Ballet/Jazz Combo:

Essential technique all in one class, half of the class is ballet and the other half jazz

Girls Dress:

Black leotard, pink tights, pink split sole ballet shoes with elastic, no skirts please! May wear dance pants/shorts over tights for jazz, black jazz shoes

Guys Dress:

Black stretchy pants, white t-shirt tucked in, black ballet shoes with elastic and black jazz shoes

Tap:

The feet are your instrument to enhance timing, rhythm, and coordination

Girls Dress:

Leotard and tights or dance pants/ dance shorts, black lace up or slip on tap shoes

Guys Dress:

T-shirt or Tank, stretchy pants, black lace up or slip on tap shoes

Hip Hop:

An urban dance form originating from the streets, will provide a funkier edge to the basic styles of dance

Girls Dress:

Loose comfy clothing or Leotard and dance pants/shorts, jazz sneakers

Guys Dress:

Loose comfy clothing, jazz sneakers

Lyrical/Contemporary:

Must be 12 years old and enrolled in ballet, a combination of ballet and jazz technique that tells a story through expressive movement

Girls Dress:

Leotard and tights or dance pants/ dance shorts, tan foot paws or bare feet

Guys Dress:

T-shirt or Tank, stretchy pants, black jazz shoes or bare feet

Latin Jazz:

Jazz dance with a Latin twist! This high- energy class is the newest craze, seen recently on So You Think You Can Dance. Highly stylized with Latin arms and footwork, it is not only fun but also a good way to build versatility in your dancing.

Girls Dress:

Leotard and tights or dance pants/ dance shorts, black jazz shoes

Guys Dress:

T-shirt or Tank, stretchy pants, black jazz shoes

Turns and Leaps:

Technique Only, focusing on technique and placement in turns and leaps through combinations and across the floor exercises, a great class for anyone looking to take their dance technique to the next level

Girls Dress:

Leotard and tights or dance pants/ dance shorts, black jazz shoes

Guys Dress:

T-shirt or Tank, stretchy pants, black jazz shoes

Drill Team Prep:

Prepare for drill team tryouts by working flexibility, proper kick line technique, splits, and basic dance combinations combining sharp movement, formation changes, and performance skills

Girls Dress:

Shorts and t-shirt or tank or leotard with dance pants/shorts, black jazz shoes or jazz sneakers

*Hair for all classes must be worn up in a bun or ponytail or short hair secured away from face
